These organizations support the families of those whose lives
were lost on September 11th.
- New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund - supports the families of our fallen firefighters
and EMS workers.
- Capitol
Heroes Campaign for the families of, those great Americans
who bravely died seeking to ensure that United Airlines Flight
93 was not used against their countrymen as a terrorist guided
missile.
- NY State World Trade Center Relief Fund - Please note: This relief fund is a project of the New
York State Government. Therefore, it has not obtained its own
IRS-recognized exemption. There is no IRS guarantee that contributions
to this fund in this name will be deductible.
- Survivors'
Fund c/o The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region
- This relief fund is a project of The Community Foundation
for the National Capital Region. (EIN: 23-7343119), an established
IRS-recognized charitable institution. Therefore, it has not
obtained its own IRS-recognized exemption. There is no IRS guarantee
that contributions to this fund in this name will be deductible.

- Global
Exchange - a nonprofit research, education and action
center dedicated to advocating and working for political, economic
and social justice on a global scale.
- New
Israel Fund - a philanthropic partnership of Israelis,
North Americans and Europeans that works for equality and social
justice for all of Israel's citizens.
- V-Day
- The women of Afghanistan -- who have suffered for years under
the brutality of the Taliban -- now face the further crisis of
war. Please write "Zeba Fund" or "Afghanistan" in the designation
field.
- Global
Fund for Women - They are a grantmaking foundation supporting
women's human rights organizations around the world working to
address critical issues such as gaining economic independence,
increasing girls' access to education, and stopping violence against
women.
- MADRE
- We are an international women's human rights organization that
provides resources and training to women in conflict zones worldwide
to promote peace, justice, and human rights.
- Mercy
Corps International - Mercy Corps International seeks
to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people
build secure, productive and just communities.
- Nuclear Age Peace Foundation - They are committed
to creating a peaceful world -- one with liberty, justice and
dignity for all. They believe that there are better ways to resolve
conflicts than killing each other, and that we can find ways to
bring an end to warfare.

4. SUPPORT EMPLOYEE FUNDS OF AFFECTED BUSINESSES
- Windows of Hope Relief
Fund - provide aid to the
families of victims of the World Trade Center tragedy who worked
in the foodservice profession throughout the entire complex.
- Cantor
Fitzgerald Relief Fund - Cantor Fitzgerald is a leading
treasury bond brokerage firm. As of September 21, they were missing
more than 600 of a total 1000 employees. In response to this tragedy,
they have set up this fund to provide emergency short-term financial
assistance for the families of the victims, as well as ongoing
assistance for childcare, college tuition, and long-term health
care in the months and years ahead.
- Carr
Futures World Trade Center Memorial Fund - An international
institutional brokerage firm, Carr Futures has lost 69 friends
and colleagues as a result of the WTC attack. In response to this,
Carr Futures has set up a memorial fund to assist with the short-term
emergency relief and assistance needs of the families and partners
of Carr employees who were the victims of the World Trade Center
tragedy. Secondarily, the Fund may provide longer term assistance
to the extent possible, which may include educational expenses,
long-term health-care, debt relief and other appropriate purposes.
- Morgan
Stanley Victims Relief Fund - Preeminent global financial
services firm, Morgan Stanley, was missing fewer than 40 employees
out of almost 3,500 according to reports on September 21.
- Sandler
O'Neill & Partners - Sandler O'Neill & Partners,
a full-service investment banking firm, has confirmed the loss
of two employees as of September 23. 64 employees are still listed
as missing, while 111 of their total 177 employees have been accounted
for. In addition, two of three company consultants are also listed
as missing.
- Marsh
& McLennan Companies, Inc Leading global professional
services firm, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., was missing
approximately 300 employees out of a total 1,700 as of September
21.
- Aon Assistance Fund - Aon is a world leader
in risk management, insurance brokerage, reinsurance, and human
capital consulting services. As of September 21, Aon was still
missing approximately 200 of a total 1,100 employees.
- Keefe, Bruyette & Woods - Keefe, Bruyette,
& Woods, a securities broker/dealer and investment bank, was
missing 67 of their 171 employees as of September 21.
- Fiduciary
Trust Company International - As of September 20, leading
global investment management firm Fiduciary Trust Company International
has reported 90 of a total of 645 employees as missing.
- Euro Brokers/Maxcor
Financial Group - Maxcor Financial Group Inc., and its
Euro Brokers group company subsidiaries, are leading domestic
and international inter-dealer brokerage firms. As of September
21, one employee has been confirmed dead; with 59 still missing,
out of a total of 285 employees.

5. PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN AID FOR AFGHANISTAN
- Help
the Afghan Children - They are purchasing food and other
emergency items from neighboring countries and delivering them
to thousands of internal refugees who are trapped within the country
and unable to receive humanitarian goods because all borders have
been closed to them.
- Revolutionary
Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) - RAWA,
a project of Afghan's Women Mission, is a political/social organization
of Afghan women struggling for peace, freedom, democracy and women's
rights in fundamentalism-blighted Afghanistan.
- Action
Against Hunger - They are extremely concerned about the
Afghan population, already victim of war, drought, and famine
and are continuing to provide assistance to the most needy on
all sides of the conflict in Afghanistan. All programs are currently
being run by our 700 local Afghan staff, men and women, supervised
by expatriate staff stationed in Islamabad.
- Children
of War - They provide food to the needy people living
inside Afghanistan and the refugee camps in Pakistan bordering
war-torn Afghanistan. They also relocate families from refugee
camps to proper housing & find long term sponsors that will
directly support these families.
- Cooperative
for Assistance and Relief Everywhere (CARE) - CARE has
committed its support in providing humanitarian assistance to
Afghans in need in four key areas: shelter (tents/plastic sheeting);
food distribution; distribution of other basic items (e.g., pots
and utensils for cooking); and health education.
- International
Rescue Committee - Founded at the request of Albert Einstein,
they are devoted to helping refugees. Their programs include medical
care, food, shelter, and public health assistance.
- American Refugee Committee - They plan to send
a team to Iran to assess the humanitarian needs of the flood of
Afghan refugees who have fled across the border and will pursue
every possible avenue to provide relief.
- Women's Alliance for
Peace and Human Rights in Afghanistan (WAPHA) - Its main
goal is to promote awareness of the tragic human rights situation
in Afghanistan and to advocate for social, political, economic
and civil rights of the Afghan women and girls in that country.

6. GIVE BLOOD
Initial supplies are plentiful, but the need will rise again in
coming weeks. Everyone is encouraged to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or
1-888-BLOOD-88 to make an appointment. The Red Cross phone lines
are overwhelmed with calls from those who want to help. Please be
patient. Consider waiting a day or two before you call, and consider
calling during off hours such as late at night or in the early morning
hours. Type O and Rh negative types are most needed. Find a Blood Center
