SUPPORT JUSTGIVE.ORG
ONE WAY TO HELP JUSTGIVE: Make donations
using www.justgive.org.
With your help, we can reach our goal of sending $1 million to charity. We are
getting closer, but we encourage you to use JustGive for all your giving needs.
Remember -- whenever you make a donation through JustGive, it goes directly
into your password-protected Giving
History, which you can access at any time. And remember, for every donation
made through JustGive, we pay a 3% transaction fee. So on $1,000,000, that's
$30,000 we have to pay. This is where you can help even more!
ANOTHER WAY TO HELP JUSTGIVE:
Besides helping us by using our service, you can also help us continue providing
it! In order to do this, we need your financial support. As a nonprofit organization,
we rely on the donations of those using our service. Our corporate sponsorships
support only 6% of our operating budget, which is why we need your help. With
such features and programs as our Wedding Registry, Gift Donations, Password-Protected
Giving History, Online Donation Buttons for Nonprofits, Affiliate Program, Inspirational
Information, Kids Corner, and much more, we provide a valuable, one-of-a-kind
service.
DONATIONS TO JUSTGIVE can be made
on
our website, or simply donate to us whenever you make a donation
through us. There is an option to do so during the donation process.
Thank you for being a JustGive Supporter!

SEPTEMBER 11TH RELIEF EFFORTS September 11th donations have
topped $1 billion! And, according to a national survey, seven in
10 Americans have donated money, given blood, or volunteered their
time in response to the attacks of September 11. One of the concerns
we expressed in last
month's newsletter was that donations to other charities would
decrease because of all the money people donated to September 11th
Relief efforts. But nearly three in four of donors say they still
plan to give as much or more to other charities than they usually
do. That's good news for all the causes that still need your support.
Visit the JustGive Guide
to find a charity to support in an area you care about.

PROVIDING AID FOR AFGHANISTAN: It seems that before we even had time to
properly grieve the events of September 11th, we were thrown into more fear
about bio-terrorism and war. If it is even possible to speak of positive things
that have come out of the disaster, one thing many of us have gained is the
awareness of the many men, women, and children suffering so tremendously in
Afghanistan. To respond to these needs and to donor requests, JustGive has added
two categories on our September
11th Tragedy Page that focus on Peace/Human Rights organizations and Humanitarian
Aid for Afghanistan.

AMERICAN INDIAN HERITAGE MONTH: Perhaps one of America’s most neglected
minority groups, Native Americans are still struggling to rise from the ashes
of the past. 59% live in substandard housing, 56% have no telephones, 29% of
families are homeless, and 85% are unemployed. And keep in mind that the Native
American population is very young. Of the 2 million American Indian people living
in the U.S. almost 36% are children. In honor of American Indian Heritage Month,
please make a donation to the American
Indian Heritage Foundation, establised to provide relief services to
Indian people nationwide and to build bridges of understanding and friendship
between Indian and non-Indian people. They were also instrumental in getting
the bill passed that made American Indian Heritage Month a reality.

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK: November 11-17 is Random Acts of Kindness
Week! The Kindness Movement, formally perpetuated by the Random
Acts of Kindness Foundation, is an international movement dedicated to making
the world a kinder place. The Foundation's goal is to demonstrate the extraordinary
power and importance of simple human kindness by promoting the practice of kind
acts, large and small, on a regular basis. Ideally, we can all produce random
acts of kindness daily, but during the week of November 11-17, we can create
even more. Read some of our Inspiring
Stories and about some incredibly inspiring
kids. Send away for hundreds
of ideas. Please tell us some of
the random acts of kindness you perform.

EVERYONE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We have been so struck by the many creative ways people came up with to help
the victims of the September 11th attack. A recent call we received was from
American Pacific, a trucking company in California, who decided to cancel their
holiday party and donate the money instead to the Capitol
Heroes Campaign, whose funds are going to the families of those victims
of Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania.
We continue to be inspired by such individuals and look forward to hearing more
stories like this. What a world this would be if we all contributed to causes
we care about - whether it's the September 11th disaster or any other cause
that needs our attention. Perhaps we can continue to challenge each other to
continue to live in such a way.
