What is "green?"
JustGive and our partners
are making a difference by thinking "green." According to the Sustainability
Institute being "green" encompasses certain key elements like
conservation, responsibility, humanity, community and
sustainability.
"Green" isn't just recycling, but redefining how you live.
Recycling, for example, includes not only recycling, but reducing
and reusing. Instead of recycling all those water bottles, use a
glass or stainless steel bottle that is safe to refill over and over
again.
JustGive is working to be "green" by not only using recycled paper
and choosing distributors that give back to the community, but by
creating services and partnerships that help individuals embrace
these key elements of being "green." Our wedding registry encourages couples
to choose charitable donations over traditional wedding gifts and
favors. It's the best way to redirect all this generosity to those
who really need it. Giving a dedicated
donation or a charity gift
certificate for any special occasion or holiday is the best way
to inspire greater giving. Now that's "green."
Eco-friendly weddings
JustGive is pleased to announce two new partnerships that are
working to make weddings eco-friendly.
World Wildlife
Fund
WWF has launched their Weddings
& Celebrations Registry to encourage couples to make their
wedding both charitable and environmentally friendly.
Portovert Magazine
The first and only magazine for eco-savvy brides and grooms,
Portovert, is joining our long-time sponsors, Aveda and Oracle, to
be the first sponsor of our Wedding Gift
Center.
Making a change
Another great new partnership is the launch of Change.org. Change.org aims to
transform social activism by serving as the central platform that
connects like-minded people, whatever their interests, and enables
them to exchange information, share ideas, and collectively act to
address the issues they care about.
Create a
change
You can browse by category to find a change or create a new change
you want to see realized in the world. Once your change is created,
other members can connect, discuss and donate to your change.
Start a
network
Giving networks are social giving communities started by members.
You can start a giving network to support your change, invite
friends, and discuss your change with other members.
Celebrate with gifts of charity
Whether you're getting married or attending a wedding this spring,
JustGive encourages you to consider charitable wedding gifts as an
alternative to traditional registry items. Personalize your wedding
gift and inspire greater giving with charitable donations.
For the couple
Create a registry of your favorite charities on a personalized Web
page. Our easy-to-use tools help you announce your registry, view
donations or buy wedding party gifts.
For wedding guests
Your charitable gift is a meaningful gesture to honor a couple's
wedding day. You can donate through an existing registry or simply
make a gift in their name. We'll send a personalized e-card with all
donations.
Charity wish lists
Weddings aren't the only special event this spring. Birthdays,
anniversaries and graduations are the perfect opportunities for
personal gifts of charity.
Create a
wish list
Friends and family members can access your list of favorite
charities online and make donations in your honor. You can announce
your wish and view donation reports at any time.
Give
a gift
The gift of charity is a thoughtful way to celebrate a loved one.
You can donate through a Wish list or send a charity gift
certificate which they can redeem for their favorite charity or
cause.
