As life-saving supplies are being rushed to the Gulf Coast, few can predict the long-term emotional, physical and financial toll of Hurricane Katrina. The situation remains tenuous, with tens of thousands of refugees facing grim living conditions, many in need of temporary housing, food and clothing. Core technology, transportation and utilities infrastructure have been severely compromised and the threat of disease looms.

As the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina is assessed and specific short- and long-term needs are identified, JustGive is consulting with FEMA to identify federal and state relief agencies that are providing immediate, “on the ground” support.
