Shelter Animals
Whether
they have rescued animals from the circus, the zoo, a factory farm,
or an abusive home, these organizations provide lifelong sanctuary
to animals of all kinds.

Best
Friends Animal Sanctuary
We are the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for abused and
abandoned companion animals. The overall purpose of Best Friends
is embodied in our program "No More Homeless Pets." Working cooperatively
with shelters, SPCAs and animal control and welfare agencies nationwide,
we seek to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless
pets, and every dog or cat ever born can be guaranteed a good home
with a loving family.
Chimp Haven
Chimp Haven's mission is to provide a permanent home to the
hundreds of chimpanzees no longer needed in biomedical research,
entertainment or as pets. Chimp Haven is built on the expertise
of individuals devoted to the most professional and humane care
and management of chimpanzees.
Performing
Animals Welfare Society
PAWS believes that captive wildlife and exotic animals used for
human entertainment need protection from abuse and cruelty. PAWS
provides temporary and permanent shelter for mistreated, abandoned
and retired performing and exotic animals. PAWS also strives to
educate the public about the abuses of animals in the entertainment
world, circuses, zoos, theme parks, and fairs.
Animal Place
Animal Place is a nonprofit sanctuary for abused and discarded farmed
animals founded in 1989. Rescued individuals and indigenous wildlife
share 60 acres of forest, meadow, pasture, hills and small lake.
